just a noob question, Are those GPL Licence nulled scripts legal to use?

I would like to provide a more complete answer if you allow me ^^ :
- the GPL Licence authorizes the modification and the redistribution of the ressources, on the condition of keeping the name of the authors.
- the GPL does NOT allow the scripts to be sold. In fact, it only accepts the sale of the download (or access) and allow associated services (example: customer support) too.
- Any script that is based or use on another script under GPL Licence inherits the same license (example: WP is under GPL, so all plugins and themes are under GPL)

CSS and JS scripts do not inherit the GPL license (in theory). But the absence of a specified license makes the GPL by default. The images do not inherit the GPL license, but the ones provided are very often open source. ;)

In some countries, there is trademark law, and copyright on graphic elements (exemple : layout of web design elements)... but it's hard to defend when the resource is open source.

Conclusion, yes it is completely legal. Some members of the Free Software Foundation even claim that charging for access to the open source resource is illegal. Because it does not respect the GPL license.

Developing under the GPL license means understanding and accepting that the resource must and will be shared without financial consideration.
