I have seen several companies that resell VPS
as if they were OFFShore & DMCA ignoring

But in reality they are not, that's why they close the sites later

I think your initial idea may be the best?
(Redirect the gambiato domain to babiato one?)
That way, the community can continue it’s development on babiato (and the stronger the community is, the best it is!)
